This year's youth match was held on Saturday, 14th June at Puddledock Farm Fisheries. Fishing was from 9am to 4pm with 15 junior members of K.P.A.C. taking part. With several committee members on hand to offer advice throughout the day, everyone settled into what was hoped to be a good days fishing. The morning started a little slowly with only small skimmers and a few baby carp being taken. Various forms of fishing were used by all participants, some on the float, some feeder fishing and some unable to make up their mind! Just before a halt was called for lunch at midday some nice carp weighing in at just over 3lb were landed which seemed to boost everyones confidence in readiness for the afternoon. After taking onboard a healthy cheeseburger chips and coke, 1pm saw the whistle blown for the next session and sure enough some sizeable nets of mixed fish were being landed. Jack Elliott in swim 16 fished well all afternoon, needing to increase his catch rate to overcome the 5lb 1oz Mirror caught earlier by Ryan Barry.

Jake Dann netted several good fish and persisted with the method feeder which helped him into 2nd place overall at the end of the session. With a 4lb 8oz carp landed by Haydon Arnold, the race was on and it was Jack who held out with an impressive 20lb overall weight. Congratulations go to everyone who turned up and took part, especially to those who fished a competition for the first time. Let's hope we see more of you during the clubs remaining 17 matches this season. Thanks also to the parents who took time to assist their youngsters and generally helped out throughout the day. Unlike last year, this time we all enjoyed a beautiful sunny day!

KPAC would also like to thank BROMAGES, DECATHLON and OCKENDON BAIT & TACKLE for their generous donations of gifts for use as prizes at both this event and at the presentation evening on 21st June. One final word of good news.... It was good to see members of the Environment Agency on the bank yesterday. Everyone had their licences checked and we are pleased to announce that all members of KPAC who were fishing were able to produce their licences when requested.

So,
Overall, 80lb 11oz of fish was landed. An increase of 9lb on last year. At the 4pm whistle, a weigh-in took place to determine the overall placings and these were as follows:
