The Kennington Park Youth match took place on Saturday 17th June with 11 members of the club fishing a gruelling 6 hour competition on Puddledocks "Snake Lake". All of the youngsters that took part on the day received free bait by way of maggots and pellets as well as being able to enjoy a free barbeque at lunchtime. Throughout the day, 9 members of the committee were on hand to offer advice and assist the newer members to the sport in the art of casting, striking and landing fish. As the day wore on with the temperatures rising to a healthy 27°C, it was noticeable that the larger fish became more difficult to catch and tactics were changed to land as many of the smaller fish as possible. Ahead of the field, and only just beating Alexsandra Evans to the finish was Danny Smith with a decent haul of mixed silverfish weighing 6lb 9oz. Alexandra came second with an impressive net of 6lb 4oz and third was Jack Elliott, , again with plenty of silverfish and a nice common carp in total, weighing 5lb 8oz.
As always, everyone who took part in the competition received a £10 gift voucher for use at Ockendon Bait & Tackle.
On the day, a total of 33lb of fish was caught which reflects a tremendous effort on the part of those who in some cases were fishing their first season.

Everyone at K.P.A.C. wishes those that took part as well as the remainder of the clubs youngsters a happy and eventful seasons fishing.
